Summer Festival Emu Egg Sculpting Contest 2008

Official Rules

1. You must use a Pattern from one of the Artwork CD ROM’s included in the Summer Festival Emu Eggshell Sculpting Kit.

You may alter the design in any way you like, we encourage you to be creative.

2. You must take pictures of your finished eggshell, put them on a disc and send the disc to the following address before Labor Day 2008. (September 01, 2008).

3. We would also like for you to include the price that you would sell the eggshell for. This is a very important part of turning a hobby into a business and many need extra help in this area. We would like to hear where you stand on this topic. Please either include the price on a letter or in a text file on the same disc as the pictures.

4. We will not accept any discs after September 1, 2008. Please allow shipping time when you mail your disc. We must have all discs (in-house) by Sept. 1.

5. Have Fun, be creative. Eggshells will be judged on creativity, design and quality. We encourage you to try something different. (That’s why the Emu Eggshell Sculpting Kit comes with 2 eggshells)

It would be a good idea to include, on the disc, anything else you would like to mention about your eggshell carving. Tell us some techniques you use, how you got started carving eggshells. etc. etc. We would love to hear your story and share it with our network.

Special Notes

The pictures you take could greatly affect the way your artwork is perceived by our Judge - Dr. Lew. Please do your best to take good pictures. We have decided to judge from pictures instead of the actual artwork because we don’t want to take the risk of having your eggshells break while in transit for judging. If you do not have the ability to take pictures of your eggshell, then put them on a disc, please ask someone to help you.
