Craig has recently been hired to work on the largest timber frame house in the United States.

Craig has carved the Fireplace Mantel along with many other wood sculptures for this magnificent home.

Craig's Chicadee Carving Class

Craig offers a Chicadee Carving Class a few times a year. In this class you will learn what it takes to carve and sculpt a 3 Dimensional Chicadee like the one above. That's right, it is all wood. This is a very enjoyable class but you will learn and progress like you never thought possible. Reserve your place early to guarantee your place in the next class. This is a four day class taught at Hone's Studio in Benjamin, Utah.

Craig has also come up with a great tool to help those who wish to carve gunstocks but cannot make a trip to one of his training classes. Craig has taken four of his original drawings and carved them onto gunstocks. He then made a cast of each. When you purchase a study cast with the artwork, you will get to use the artwork in your own work and have the study cast to actually feel the depth and see exactly where you need to carve more or make adjustments. This is as close as it gets to hands on training, without taking a class.

Craig Hone Study Casts

Craig has put together four of his most popular designs and cast study casts of each. Study Casts are made from the actual gunstock, carved by Craig himself. This gives you a great tool to use in your own engraving. Now you have the finished piece right in your hand. Nothing is better to see where you need to carve deeper or add detail. This set is the best teaching tool we have ever seen, next to hands-on training of course.
